still stalling Empty still stalling

checked everything I can think of but still stalling. when youre driving the revs are staying at about 1500 when you take your foot off the pedal and stay there till I come to a complete stop then they drop to about 1000 after about 30 seconds. could it be the ecu at fault.

seems like the ecu is picking up a signal from the speed sensor on the gearbox speedo drive and holding it when it shouldn't do could even be conflicting signals from other faulty sensors working against each other what make/year cabriolet have you got?
