Project or scrap? Empty Project or scrap?

Hi,I have an 1990 ford escourt cabriolet 1800si, 134 bhp, that has been standing for a couple of years unloved. It has approx 65,000 miles on clock. Needs a new hood, and some attention to bodywork, bur interior very good and an excellent runner before been left ( long story!) colour- violet jewel. Can anyone out there give me a rough idea on a price if restored to former glory. Many thanks. Sue

I presume this is a mk5a been a 1800si unfortunately escort cabriolets are the unloved classic so sale value is not very high if you did the work to return it to roadworthy you proberbly wouldn't get back the money you spent as a whole car
however its not all doom and gloom because its a 1800 130bhp the engine is a popular swop for the 1600cc in mk3/4 escorts fiestas and with the loom, ecu etc so in my opinion breaking it is the best option

unless of course you planned to keep it for summer and in that case the restoring it is allways first choice

Then keep it and sort the roof out they come up on ebay now and then or contact sellers on ebay breaking one.
Providing your going to keep it and not after selling on in the hope of a better return on your outlay imo that would be the best option

had a quick browse on ebay and there is a 1997 calipso ltd edition with 12 months mot 6 months at fixed price at £650 which no one has purchased so i would expect yours to be valued at under the £500 mark
