we've being trying to work out if the covers are from the rook rack or what else they could be. they are unlike the se500 covers i've just been looking at the covers on the mk6 parked next to amanda's cab. ???

yes everyone notices them , roof rack holes around the screen ,usually a good topic of discussion lol ,im not sure if i do or dont have one thou

Yes, it looks like your's has had a roof rack fitted in the past.

I have a Mk4 cabrio roof rack myself. The instructions which came with the rack show the a- pillar hole cover is not round plastic screws like the all blue and Mk5/6 cabs, but a rectangle, just like on yours.

On your b pillar, did the roll bar insulation have some of the insulation cut out? Also, the screw facing skyward on the b pillar, near the rear window should be bigger than on a standard cab.

on the b pillar im not sure someone else will have to look lol ,yes roll bar has some insulation cut out if i remember right lol want a new one of them lol

Here we go, a copy of the scanned insrtuctions for fitting, showing the type of blanking plug used. Which matches your one.

Also, just to the right (item 19) shows the cut out of the insulation required on the b pillar.

Yep item 21 are the ones on the screen pillar. Better make sure you never lose those Amanda, I very much doubt you'd ever find any replacements.
I did have an image of a cabriolet with a roof / ski rack fitted I'll try and find it

i have a pic from the french brochure of the all blue not quite sure how they are gonna open the roof but looks cool all the same

I don't have a pic of my allblue with it's rack on yet, but this is a pic of my MK6.
The units are hinged at the front so you can open/close the roof. Quite a cleaver idea!

The MK4 cabrio roof rack is more difficult to fit as you have to lower the roof to fit the b pillar brackets and then you have to build the whole thing up and fit it to the roof.

The Mk5/6 one is much easier to fit thou.
